Take some delicious fruit,or a tasty item from your larder,mix with a dash of imagination and use as a natural bonus for your beauty care.Make it according to the following easy-to -follow directions. To nourish
ALMONDS:are rich in an oil that helps to nourish and soften dry skins. Method:Add a coffee cup of cold milk.a drop at a time.to 1 oz of ground almonds ,stirring well .Strain and add 1/2 oz sugar. Smooth on hands and face.Leave on for 10min and wash off.
AVOCADO PEARS are also oil producing .Use to smooth away dry ,rough skin on limbs.

Method: After eating the pulp,turn the halves of pear skin inside out,so that the remains of the pulp are on outside.Rub this over any rough parts of the limbs with circular movements.
HONEY :leaves the skin soft and silky and reduces tiny lines caused through dryness. Method:Spread a fine film of honey over the face;leave for 15-20 mins.Remove with cotton wool ,soaked with water

Oily-skinned girls should add a few drops of lemon juice to the honey
before applying the mask.
TOMATOES include more vitamins than most other fruits.They help to produce a silky lotion for hands!
Method:Mix equal parts of the juice of a ripe tomato,lemon and
glycerin.Gently massage into hands with a washing movement.

STRAWBERRIES:
are a natural lightener for sallow skin .Cut a fresh strawberry in half,Rub the cut side all over the skin .Leave overnight.


TO TONE

APPLES :are mild-oil chasers and contain a built-in-face-pack,while providing a perfect pep-up for the oilier skin. Method:Finely-greate a large apple.Spread a thin layer over the face.Lie back and leave it on for 10-15mins.Wash off with warm water.

CUCUMBERS
:are naturally astringent.Cucumber juice can be used as a toning lotion to keep oiliness at bay and for lightening a dull complexion.It also plays the part of an anti-shine lotion.Try it on that prone- to -glow panels-forehead,nose and chin. Method:Put a 3” piece of cucumber through a fine grater and squeese out the juice.saturate a piece of cotton wool in this juice and dab all over the face .To combat central-panel oiliness,dab this area,several times a day,with cucumber juice.

TO LIGHTEN

Cut a 2” length of a cucumber into small pieces ,cover with 2
tablespoons of boiling milk,leave it to cool.

Apply this liquid with cotto wool over the face and necks.Make a fresh
amount,every 2 days.
LEMONS have a gentle bleaching action that works wonders on a tired
dingy skin.Dryer skins may need a little moisturiser after this lemon
face-pack.
Method:Use half a squeezed lime as a bowl for the lightly whisked yolk
of an egg.Add a few drops of lemon juice and leave overnight,for the
egg yolk to absorb oil from the lemon skin.
Smooth mixture over the face with a piece of cotton wool,leaving an
inch around the eyes uncovered .Wash with tepid water after 10mins.
EGGS :are double-barrelled beautifiers!The yolk is an excelent nourisher for cleansing and conditioning hair.The albumen in the white makes a natural toner and helps give a lift to facial contours. Method for nourishing hair: Beat yolk lightly and mix it with one cup of warm water.Use this,instead of a shampoo,massaging the mixture into the hair and rinsing well with warm water.
Method for toning :Make a ‘chin strap’ by painting under the chin,from
ear to ear ,with the lightly beaten white of egg.Place thumbs just
below the ears and gently lift the contours of the chin.Hold until
egg-whites dries …
ORANGES are marvellous beauty aids.The juice and oil from an orange
produce a cleaner and a tonic for dry and normal skins.

Method for cleanser:Save the peel from oranges.Cover with a little
cold boiled water.Stab peel all over with a sharp-pointed knife to
release oil.Leave overnight.Strain next morning and use the liquid for
bathing the face.
Method for tonic:Dip a piece of cotton wool in water,squeeze out and
dip in a few drops of orange juice.Stroke this all over the neck.

To refresh
MELONS are nature’ s own ‘moisturisers’,for the melon stays cooler
than any other fruit.It is an ideal choice for taking the sizzle out
of a hot,harassed skin.
Method:Slice off slivers from a wedge of fruit.Arrange between 2
layers of gauze in an area,large enough to cover your face.Mould
lightly on to your skin.Leave on for 15min.
PEACHES can also be compressed as the above.They tone up the skin and
soften and smoothen the complexion.
POTATOES put sparkle into tried eyes and help reduce puffiness.
Method:Grate a large raw potato and press between 2 layers
of guaze or 2 clean handkerchiefs.Rest lightly over the eyes.Lie down
for half an hour.
