How to avoid Osteoporosis by intaking calcium


Osteoporosis has become an epidemic disease in the U.S. A few years ago ,the U.S govt even declared an ‘Osteoporosis Day’ to bring the disease to the public attention. Many American nutritionists then proposed to increase the Recommended Dietary Allowances of calcium for woman from 800mg to 1200mg daily.However ,calcium resorption has many causes in addition to insufficient production of the female sex hormone,estrogen,after menopause is another powerful factor.I theorize that discontinuance of the estrogen-based oral contraceptives may contribute to osteoporosis.Abrupt discontinuance of these drugs,widely used by American women since a few decades ago,may cause a recoil estrogen disturbance in the body,which may aggravate calcium resortion .Thus the debate continues within nutritional profession on whether the recommended amount of calcium should be increased.Even the U.S National Academy of Science’s Food and Nutrition Board is crippled by this issue,and for the first time in its history the board has not been able to deliver the recommendation on calcium intake.

You would naturally ask,after learning the bone remodeling process,whether abundant intake of calcium may also or arrest the changes in our facial features and our figures that occur as we age.Unfortunately ,our knowledge on how to control such changes is lacking. Calcium controls nerve functions,muscles ability to do the work through contraction and relaxation.
