Inherited Cystic fibrosis makes the epithelial cells to produce a special type of protien called cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR).Faulty CFTR results in salt-water imbalance inside your body and this will result the mucus becoming thick and immobile.This will result in serious health problems,that this thick mucus may block harmful germs and all in lungs.As said above it affects the digestive system as the mucus blocks the enzymes which are responsible for the digestion of food.

The better treatment of Cystic Fibrosis is pulmonary therapy.Intake of pancreatic enzymes will helps in better food digestion.mucolytic medication which helps to reduce the thickness of mucus make the mucus mobile so that digestive problem can be reduced.A modern gene therapy in which the CF genes are inhaled is also under progression.
