Work-related stress is increasingly recognised today as a major
cause of illness and mental breakdown. Many people tend to associate
work related stress with over demanding and fast moving jobs. While
there’s a certain amount of truth to that, having too little work and
responsibilities, feeling powerless at work, boredom and frustration on
the job do also produce stress.
Jobs involving constant deadlines and responsibilities can leave
you feeling over-stressed,unable to cope or exhausted. The trick to
surviving stress on the fast lane is to have an accurate planning
strategy.Lack of proper organisation and planning is probably the most
common basic cause of selfgenerated stress at work.If you feel that
you just cannot cope with the workload, have an open and honest
communication with your boss, focussing on your strengths and
capabilities ,while bringing to his attention your past achivements.
If you are in a slow-paced or monotonous job,you should try to
motivate yourself and change your attitude towards your job, instead of
dwellin on your unhappiness. The best solution here is to look at your
job from a new prespective. Limit your perception of failure. If you
don’t succeed in one thing ,it dosent mean that you are a failure as a
person. And dont be over-ambitious.Ambitions are healthy only when
there’s some possibility of realising them.
