Cholestrol Free food-Is that true?

cholestrol free

As more people endeavour to become consummate health food
consumers, food manufacturers are cashing in by touting their products
as ‘healthier’ than those of their competitors.More often than
not,’health’ foods are not what they claim to be.Most people have the
misconception that ‘health’ foods are nonfattening. In fact ,some are
real fat traps. If you want to lose fats effictively,it is necessary to
learn to decipher the labels .Always check the fat content listed on
food label and buy whatever has the lowest calorie. Here is a rundown
on the common terms of health food.Though all the highly ambiguous and
confusing terms arent easy to decode, the ultimate responsibility still
lies with the consumer. Dont be fooled by the term ‘cholesterol-free’
.Most people interpret it as healthy and safe to eat in unlimited
quantities. However, since cholestrol comes only from animal
products, this claim can still be used on vegetable products high in
saturated fats.Such products may be cholesterol -free,but they can
contribute to increased blood cholesterol levels.
Another label to watch out is ‘vegetable fat’.This term usually
refers to palm or coconut oils which are the exceptions to the general
vegetable-oil-is-better-than-animal-fat rule.These oils are used
widely in processed foods which have a high percentage of saturated
fats.Another label,’vegetarian’ may indicate that the food is meatless
but if it is deep-fried,baked in pastry, glistening with oil, then it is
certainly not fat-free.

Faty oils

If one cant reduce the use of fat, reduce fat by using less saturated oils, which has less fatty content, that causes damages to your health.
Saturated fats are found not only in animal products and dairy
products but also in some plant products. The less saturated fat you
eat ,the better. Our bodies don’t need it and it is the fat which
contributes to raised levels of blood cholesterol ,which in turn
increase the risk of heart diseases.

Polyunsaturated fats are primarly found in vegetable oils such as
safflower, sunflower, soybean, sesame seed and cotton seed. Some studies
indicate that polyunsaturated fats can lower blood cholestrol, reducing
the risk of heart diseases. But repeated reheating of polyunsaturated
oil at high temperature until it darkens in colour turns it into
saturated fat that is better avoided .For this reason avoid deep
frying food containing polyunsaturated fat.A special type of
polyunsaturated fatty acids-the Omega-3 found in fatty fish such as
salmon, sardine and mackerel has been found to be effective in reducing
high blood pressure heart disease risk. This explains why Eskimos whose
diet depend largely on fish rarely die of heart failure.
Monounsaturated fats are found in oils such as olive ,peanut
oil, peanut butter rapeseed and foods such as
almonds,cashews,avocados.Latest research confirms that replacing
saturated fats with mono unsaturated fats may decrease the level of
blood cholestrol.Most mass-produced margarine ,salad oil,mayonnaise
and snack foods are hydrogenated for a longer shelf life.

Why one like fatty foods?

The undesirable effects of fat on our health have been much
publicised. Its strong link to heart disease and some cancers are the
main causes for the implication of fat and obession with fat
reduction.Whatever the image or changing ideal, women’s discontent with
their bodies is epidemic.
Why do we eat so much fat anyway?Basically, because it is there.High
fat foods such as red meat, diary products and processed foods are
extremely accessible and affordable to us. We also eat a lot of fast
food, much of which comes crispy and fat loaded from the deep
fryer.Take for instance, the french fries which are bought commercially
balanched in oil by the fast food restauranteurs and the chips get a
second coating in the deep fryer before they are sold. This
overconsumption of fats has caused so much concern that the food
industry is fast coming up with fake fats,we mean fat substitutes.
Though we are going through a fitness craze, the irony is that most
people are note eating right. Our tendency to enjoy high fats foods is
easy to understand because fats supply aromas, flavours and textures
to foods.Furthermore, new habit aren’t learned overnight;at the most we
can expect gradual changes in our eating habits over a period of time.
Eat well ,exercise, have sufficient rest.It helps you to take one
Sanatogen a day to supplement your diet deficiency.
