The most common problem associated with adolescence is the formation of acne. Acne is a rash on the face due to the accumulation of secretions from the glands in the skin. The hormonal changes at this period trigger this action. Acne results great psychological distress and lack of self confidence about their appearance. During this period the children my under go anxiety disorder known as hypochondriasis. Aggressive self assertion and exhibitionism are also seen in adolescents. In this period they are conscious about there over weight. To control the weight , they do not take food. Some of them are take excess nutrition ,they are not bother about the weight of the body. Another problem is neurasthenia .,the symptom of this diseases is lack of concentration , sleeplessness ,depression , head ache etc. Phobias are seriously affect adolescence . phobias are fears to avoid certain situations , objects and activities . addiction to drugs , smoking , and alcohol are also seen in adolescents. The addiction of drugs due to curiosity , depression , insecurity etc.
