Cooking is an art but we shall always focus on health as a primary concern while cooking. Almost all the diseases we face today are due to bad life style and bad eating habits. Here I am presenting you 14 better ways to cook food, so that you may get all the nourishment and health with added taste too.

1. Obviously the primary step is washing! Dip the vegetables in water for 5 mins before cutting. Later wash it properly.

2. Always cut as Big pieces. Researches show that big pieces carry more vitamins.

3. Use a neat and clean tools for cutting,especially the knife and cutting table.

4. Use very small amount of water (you know the required amount) while cooking.

5. Keep the lids closed.

6. Keep all ingredients ready before cooking.

7. While cooking green vegetables, keep the lid on to preserve green color.

8. Use less soda or baking powder as it irritates intestine.

9. Use minimum (reqd) salt and chilly powder. Over use of salt may increase your blood pressure and chilly may result in ulcer.

10. Try to avoid frying! I know its tastier, but its same as you eating for the sake of filling stomach! No Vitamins!!

11. Avoid use of food colors as it raises serious health issues.

12. Boiling and steaming is good method of cooking.

13. Eat the food 15 mins after cooking.

14. Don’t overcook, it may result in less Vitamin C.
